Time is valuable

Why I didn’t write more? Why I didn’t call more? Why I didn’t send any postcards? Because of this: cleaning 30 mobiles (in- and outside), 40 tents, including 420 forks, 420 knifes, 840 plates, 70 mouldy fridges and putting together 40 kitchen units including gas and electricity. Setting up 1 reception tent, including collecting brochures, making a local information folder and store all our spare inventory including 10 babybeds, babybaths and babychairs, boxes of plates, cups, cutlery, parasols etc.. Putting together 70 information folders to put in every accommodation, writing hundreds of cards for collecting potential customer addresses. Putting up 2 gazebos (partytents), of which one blew away already. Turning 5 tents into a semi-permanent home for ourselves. Ow, and I would almost forget, welcome guests, smile to them and listen to there complaints (which they always have when the weather is bad like we had the last couple of weeks). And that, my friends, is just what we did on our own campsite.

I don’t even want to talk about the things we did on the campsites a little more south and a lot more north (cleaning tents, rescue a reception ánd a live tent that were blown away after a storm, rescue a hedgehog family that build there home under a groundsheet)

Does it mean that, since I’m writing now, things have calmed down? Yes, it does. We’re finishing of the last bits and bobs and help out a little bit more on another campsite, but we are more or less waiting for the season to start. 16 June we are talking business. We can do what we came here for: welcome our guests, chat with them and hopefully drink and eat with them, lie in the sun and discover the area.
