If you like Pina Colada getting caught in the rain

Here I am, sitting behind my “desk” (small white plastic table), in my “office/bedroom” (larger inner with desk, double bed and “bedside table/printer table”). I finally have the day off that I was longing for so long, and it’s pouring down. I’m glad that we’ve put the extra roof over my tent, so at least it’s not raining inside anymore, like it did the night I moved in. Now there are just little puddles at the large side entry, I can live with that. It’s still camping ! Don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining, I already have spent about 2 hours on the beach about 2 weeks ago and I did manage to go to the pool 3 times. But today I’m stuck to my tent, alone, since all the others are working . It’s good though, finally time to tidy up, sleep in, watch a dvd or two and write this thing.

Let’s see, what is there to tell you? Did I tell you already about the festival that I went to? I don’t think so. You might have seen the picture though, of Johnny Clegg. Who? Johnny Clegg. He is big !.........in South Africa, and apparently they know him here as well. I really like his music because it reminds me so much of my travels down there, so I got really excited when I found out that he was playing here, at this festival in Brétignolles sur Mer. I went, stood front row and couldn’t believe I finally saw the man who’s music I’ve been listening to for years now, in the flesh. It was an emotional moment.

Another emotional moment I had this week, when I found out that a friends godson (his sisters son), age 19, has been killed in Afghanistan, bombed. All this friend is saying to me now, for 2 days, is “Why?” and I don’t know what to say. It’s all I can think of as well, why?

There were different emotions, mostly surprise, a week before, when Frank, someone who stayed on my campsite last year, showed up with his bike. Him and his wife ware staying on a campsite 40 km down the road and he decided to cycle up to mine, just to come and say hello. I know your reading this Frank, so hello back to you and don’t forget to email me the pictures !

A lot less emotional, as a matter of fact not emotional at all, was the night out we had last weekend. It was all well behaved and very decent as you can see on the pictures. (please, don’t remind me of the money I spent, it would make me stop going out all together. 6 euros for a small beer !!)

Well, that’s it. Work wise it’s very quiet at the moment. All the cleaning, preparing and repairing is more or less done and there aren’t many customers yet. This will change soon and I can’t wait. Things will be so different.
