Luckely my friend from Denmark, Maria is here so I had someone to share it with. She arrived Thursday last week, perfectely in time for my birthday beachparty on Saturday. After dragging down BBQ's, food, drinks and guitar to the beach we partied till late. The next day was the first day of my holiday and we, that is Maria and my French "lover", went to eat oysters and mussels (a thing that every tourist here HAS to do) for lunch in Marennes. Had ice cream in Brouage, a pretty fortified town and build up an appetite again wandering around Le Chateau d'Ol¨¦ron.
The evening was well spend with Steve (my favorite kids courier) and Maria at Tina's. A great restaurant/bar right on the beach that every jazzlover much visit at least once in his life. (ask Sean Penn if you don't believe me)
Monday Maria and I were off to Arconchon, a town south from Bordeaux on the coast. We found a nice little hotel and tried to find some nightlife. Unfortunately there wasn't much to be found on a Monday night. The day after we went to check out Europe's biggest sand dunes and I was impressed. And that means something, since I did see the Worlds biggest in the past already! I had a nap on the beach before we headed back home.
Official my holiday was over, but 'quelle' luck, I had to drive my managers car all the way up to Caen and back. A 5 and a half hour drive to the north. Overnight we (Maria with me again) stayed in Granville, a nice little town right on the coast, not far from Mont St. Michel, which we spotted the next day.
And today....back to work.
Anyway, I'm behind with my pictures, so it might seem a bit random, but I don't want to keep any of them from you. Enjoy and keep dropping me a line once in a while.
