Lets see, what did I say?
I've got good news: I'm looking forward to my job (it's good news to me anyways).
Last tuesday and wednsday I got my training at Hartford Manor, headquarters of Holidaybreak (owner of Eurocamp and Keycamp) in the UK. With me were 16 other AA, Area Assistents, from the UK and Holland. Together with 6 AA who didn't need training anymore coz theý're repeaters, that makes 23 of us, for the whole of Europe.
What's making me looking more forward to everything is that I have more priviliges (being part of management, seriously !!) than I realised before: my own car, my own mobile phone and probably my own tent.
What do I have to do to get that? I'll tell you.
As soon as I arrive I have to set up office at the base campsite, which is one of the 5 sites that I, together with the Area Manager, will be responsible for. On those sites there will be 8 teams of couriers (campingmedewerkers) working, for whom I will be the link with headquarters. I have to make sure they get paid, pass on all kinds of information both ways, pick them up from airport or station when they arrive in the area, arrange their homeward travel after finishing their contract, etc.
Secondly I have to check and collect local information (e.g. where is the hospital, cost and times of attractions, etc.) and then collate them for the customers as well as the couriers. To make sure the couriers have some knowledge of the area I take them on fieldtrips as well.
Where will I be? I'll be near Tours in the Loire Valley (www.eurocamp.nl), but I don't know where my base will be situated. As soon as I do, the adress can be found here. It's about 200 km south from Paris, so Paris Here I'll come !!
What else did I write before I deleted it? Some rubbish probably. O yes, about my third and really boring day in the UK: waiting for taxis, plains and people from social security to get my national insurance number (engels sofinummer). Not worth typing again.
So, I hope to see some of you on the 20th and otherwise "bon voyage et au revoir."
